Medieval Randomness Pt. 2

Contrast between the wood and the stone.

 The rocks and the sea.

For some reason I thought this looked cool.

Nice colors and interesting, if simple, composition.

I'm discovering that the trick to good photography is to look at the same things as everyone else and see something completely different.

Cool focus on the plant in the foreground.

Experimenting with making everything black and white except for a small patch of color.

 And again.

 Interesting composition and textures.

Focus on the lock with the rest blurred.

 Nice smooth texture.

 Mixture of textures.

This was in a tiny castle that's been turned into a hotel.  When we were there they had it set up for a wedding.

Looks almost like something out of a movie set in the Victorian era.

Near our house there's a long wall with lots of graffiti, and we decided to take pictures of our family there.  This is moi, obviously.  :)

Medieval Randomness Pt. 1

The Cloth Hall in the center of Krakow.  It houses several cafes and souvenier shops.

The St. Mary's Cathedral in the main square.

One side of the main square.

Every summer down in the center there is a medieval fair.  These were two of the knights involved in the jousting tournament.  With a hot air balloon in the background...

My mother in the stocks at a castle.  :)

 Stairs and moss.

 More stairs.

A door handle in black and white.

I like the contrast between the orange brick and the green trees.

Focus on the texture of the brick with the trees in the background.

 My beautiful mother.  :)

 More contrasting colors.

Stone against the blue and green background.

Focus on the metal bars with the castle wall in the background.

More contrast between the rough grey stone and the smooth bluue-green background.

"Cross"-Cultural

Random rooftops.

 Clock tower thing.

 More random composition.

It seemed appropriate to add some text.  :)

Some photoshop fun with the Polish flag.

This was only a small fraction of the crowd gathered for the outdoor mass at a monastery with a famous shrine to Mary.

Random statue of Pope John Paul II.

 Another cross.

 And still another.

Very cool castle.  Two brothers bought it and are transforming it into a hotel.

 The stairs to the castle.

A window.  I like the way the blue looks with the stone.

Fun view of the castle wall with the forest.

Cool angle of light fixtures and the door.

A fun chandelier.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas (Sort Of...) Pt. 2

 Pine trees.  Very festive.

I really liked the wreath and the eagle positioned together.

Christmas light and the Liberty eagle.  This seems to be my most common style of picture, with something in the foreground against a blurry but still-important background.

The eagle himself.  I wonder if he has a name...

More Liberty happiness.  (It looks like an advertisement for the school.)

Again with the object in the foreground.

The front of Demoss through a bench.  I really like it.

Star and the front of Demoss.

 The same bench after dark.

 Shiny lights.

The front of Demoss after dark.  Very bright and pretty.

The front doors to Demoss, complete with Christmas wreaths.

A white flower contrasted against the Christmas tree behind it.  This is probably my favorite picture from that evening.

The street outside Demoss, currently known as ADD heaven.

I'm still not a fan of the trees still having green leaves, but they did make for a nice picture.
